NSA-Affäre: Justizkommissarin gibt die Briten auf

Die EU-Justizkommissarin Viviane Reding dringt darauf, den Datenschutz schnell europaweit zu regeln. Ein Entwurf liegt seit fast 2 Jahren fertig vor (und wird seit einem Jahr von Lobbyvertretern verwässert). Wegen der Zusammenarbeit von US-Geheimdienst NSA und dem britischen Dienst GCHQ dringt sie deshalb auf ein europaweites Datenschutzrecht im Zweifel auch ohne Großbritannien.
