29.11.2009: Irak kauft US-Videosystem zur Grenz-Überwachung

Der Irak hat zur Überwachung seiner Grenzen mit dem Iran und Syrien in den USA ein Videosystem im Wert von 49 Millionen Dollar (32,7 Millionen Euro) gekauft.

Nach Einrichtung des Systems im Juni 2010 könne die irakische Grenzpolizei einen 286 Kilometer des Grenzverlaufs mit Syrien und 402 Kilometer der Grenze zum Iran kontrollieren.
