FRA in action for refugees

As an organisation working in the Fundamental Rights Agency (FRP) of the EU, we report on their publications when they concern our issues. he current report concerns even in 2 areas our issue Flight and Migration.

1. The Interparliamentary committee to look at the pandemic’s impact on fundamental rights

The FRA Director will participate in the Interparliamentary Committee Meeting organised by the European Parliament Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee. The committee brings together national parliaments. The Director's intervention on 10 November will draw on FRA’s regular bulletins on the impact of the pandemic on fundamental rights. 2. FRA promotes its new asylum handbook to judges

FRA presented the third edition of its future handbook on European law relating to asylum, borders and immigration on 28 October. The presentation was part of an online training course for judges on the detention of protection seekers. The European Asylum Support Office (EASO) organised the webinar. It was part of their professional development webinar series.

Some 20 members of courts and tribunals from ten EU Member States attended. The updated and further developed Handbook, produced in cooperation with the Council of Europe, will be out in mid-December. It will available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
